I love butterlies! Not only are they beautiful but they represent transformation, change, growth and metamorphosis. THIS is what happens at Keep It Real Counseling!
I like to Keep It Real, as the name of my practice implies. Never worry about saying the wrong thing or think that a topic is off limits. It never will be! You are special and welcome here to just BE YOU! I build working therapeutic relationships with my clients very quickly because I do love to Keep It Real and also have a little fun while we're in session!
I love working with my clients to achieve their goals. I am experienced with substance abuse. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober since 3/3/06. This helps clients feel a unique connection with me if they are also struggling with addiction. I have been through it! I also enjoy working with adolescents and young adults going through their natural developmental stages. This can be a tough time in their lives and I give them strategies to cope with the challenges experienced during this life stage. I have special training assisting families and couples who are experiencing conflict. I give support and provide coping skills to anyone dealing with depression, anxiety or grief. I help individuals, couples, families, young people and LGBTQ work through many different issues. I am able to help people handle any adjustment issues- divorce (before, during and after), relationship issues, occupational issues. social issues, transitioning to college life, etc. Trauma work is also a specialty, as well as anger management AND clients resistant to treatment. There are many more therapeutic issues I have experience with - just email, call or text to ask me any questions!
